	Annex Move: Communication to Faculty

The following communication was distributed on September 22, 2003 by e-mail to faculty in medicine and biology from Dr. Susan Starr, director of the Biomedical Library: Biomedical Library Update It has been a busy summer at the Biomedical Library. As we prepare for the upcoming addition and renovation of the library we want to alert you to some of the changes: * 50,000 journal volumes (mostly published before 1993) were moved to the UCSD Libraries Annex, an offsite storage facility, where they will remain for the duration of the building project. See details at http://scilib.ucsd.edu/bml/building/annex.htm * A convenient electronic form to use to order BML materials from the Annex is available at http://rohan.ucsd.edu/biomed/ * Annex materials are delivered to the library twice daily Monday through Friday and once on Saturday. * The book collection was moved to the second floor The next phase will be the creation of temporary staff space on the first floor in the area formerly occupied by the book collection. The library will remain open during the entire construction project, slated to be completed in 2006, and is committed to providing excellent service.
